Moving Beyond The Textbook Approach

What do we do differently?
Project SparkL focuses on skill-based teaching, a strategy that gives deeper meaning to concepts and subject matter. This makes learning more experiential and helps make mental connections with the knowledge that the children already have and the new information being received. The idea is to reduce dependence on memorizing, and move towards learning based on understanding and applying.
What is Skill-Based Teaching?
Skill-based teaching is a method that empowers children by teaching them to imbibe the skills required to get ready for the real world. It revolves around practical application rather than being strictly knowledge-based.
We believe in solidifying the core academic skills (3 R’s: Reading, Writing and Arithmetic) with the skills needed today (4 C’s: Creativity, Critical thinking, Communication and Collaboration).

Why Is It Absolutely Critical?
01. Independence
Students who learn through skill-based instruction are more likely to think at a higher level and solve problems on their own. This is crucial for primary children being introduced to new concepts.
02. Learning Speed
Students learn much faster when there are multiple ways for them to absorb information. Activating multiple intelligences helps them grasp abstract concepts exponentially faster.
03. Simulation
Children have little real-world experience, making theoretical subjects challenging. Exploring lessons that engage their immediate physical reality allows them to confidently catch on.
